New Album "Loud and Blues" now on sale for over sea!

Hello, our fellow ginjineko freaks!

We have the most excellent news to share with you today.
As some of you might already know, ginjineko's new album "Loud and Blues" is now on sale for oversea fans!
You can get it from CDbaby.
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ginjineko3

Fresh outta oven! Come and get it while it's hot! :)

Here's the message from ginjineko himself.

--------------------------------------------

The album was recorded on Gibson Les Paul 92 (a.k.a. Skull) powered by the special hand-wound pickups "SAYTONE" by Saitou Gakki Koubo, except for the backing part of Re:START, which was recorded on Line6 Variax JTV-59.
(SAYTONE http://www.saytone.jp/ )
(Line 6 http://line6.com/ )

As for the Amp simulator, Line6 POD HD 300 and 500 only.
Mixed and mastered using EZ MIX1,2 by Crypton Future Media.
(Crypton Future Media http://www.crypton.co.jp/ )

This EZ MIX is just off the chain!
Just one click and your sound is all enhanced to the professional level.
The sound to apply with each track is of course superb but I personally love the plugin for master.
The wall of guitar sound on L and R, which you hear often on HR/HM tunes can be set up by this single plugin.
If you wanna boost up your acoustic pressure, just use the multi band comp. and you are all done.

My guitar itself of course sounds super better thanks to SAYTONE pickups, but thanks to POD HD, my sound is now almost "simulator smell" free. Added to that, I've got this monster software called EZ MIX for brush up.
I'm sure my work sounds millions of times better now.

By the way, I use Elixir (09-46) for the strings.

As you might have noticed, I covered the classical tune "Canon" this time.
I wanted to show respect for JerryC who became the trigger to restart my music activities once again and it also means "origin" and "challenge".
I hope you all enjoy Canon -ginjineko ver.

Here are some notes for each tunes.

Brand New World
The longest tune record! 8:35!
The brand new world now revealed.

Loud And Blues
It's the title tune.
Also the answer to the hand-made sticker on my guitar, which has been there for more than 20 years.

Cross Road
I originally wrote this tune for the seminar at Music Fair 2011 presented by Crypton Future Media.
The event was held on 2011 Oct.

Song of Our Days
It was originally a track called "STF (Song to Fly)", which I created before I started ginjineko activities.
My partner khaluah created the melody and the lyrics and the track was reborn as a song called "Song of Our Days".
I rearranged that vocal version as instrumental.

SHINE
I wrote this song for the collaboration with the guitar player Mr. Fumiyoshi Kamo, when we did the interview for Ritto Music.

Canon
Challenge to the origin of my all.

Moon Stone
All played by the acoustic guitar.
The melody is the pure 1-take miracle.

8
The main melody repeats as if infinity.
Perfect for marching band performance...?

RE:START
This was the tune I composed the first in 2012.
It's the fresh restart.
I've been thinking for a long time if I should make this tune the track No.1.

Enjoy!

Sincerely,
Your "Big Cat", ginjineko

【AMP SIMULATOR】JamUp Pro for iPhone/iPad App

Link to the HD ver.
http://youtu.be/gwjYvCOzGSU?hd=1

---Review by ginjineko----

I've just reviewed the amp simulator for iPhone/iPad called "Jam Up Pro".

I've got a message from its developer the other day, asking me if I'd like to review their app.
And I said, "Hell yeah!".
I received the app and the interface, tried it, liked it so much, so went ahead and shot the video between my regular job (By the way, I work here now: Himeji Beta Music http://www.beta-music.com/web/index.html ). Yup, I pretty much work at the studios. This time the video is shot at my work place, not in my room as usual.

Anyway...

There are tons of iPhone/iPad amp simulators out there.
I've pretty much tried every single one of them (free ones and paid ones) but to be honest, guys, this Jam Up is the best so far, for both the sound and the features.

First, the sound.
It's thicker than AmpliTube. Distortion takes effect better too. So does EQ.
The amp lineup is wide in variation. Each has the unique sound. There are none that sounds the same.
All the stompboxes you'll need are there. Color difference is very clear too.

With the amp at the center, you can drag and switch the order of stompbox connection (host or pre), which is very convenient.

M favorite stopmbox is Tape Echo.
It's warmer and fatter than digital delay.
When you need some depth and glaze on your sound, this is the best choice.
As for the reverb, spring reverb is the best for me. It's just better than any compact boxes in my opinion.

When you use this kind of apps, I'm sure the biggest concern will be the latency.
As for Jam Up, it does delay just a little bit, but it's "just-a-little-bit" enough. You won't have any problems while you actually play.
In my demo video, the first half of "Song of Our Days" is directly recorded from the PA speakers in the studio, using my iPhone camera. I'm sure you don't notice anything odd.
The last half part of the song is the line-recorded sound through my PC so that you can tell the details of the sound. It really doesn't sound that much different from any amp simulators in the market today.

The best part of Jam Up is its high quality sound, of course, but other features are also just great.

The classic, good-old tuner, for example.
I know most of the simulator apps have tuners, but Jam Up has an analog meter. I personally love that.
Recently most apps have LED meters, probably for better looks, but LED tuner is only for rule-of-thumb tuning. It's just not suitable for accurate tuning.
As for analog meter, you can see the hand on the meter. Jam Up even has the analog scale meter under the hand so you can accurately tune your guitar.
All tuners are naturally accurate. But this visibility is very important. You can tell if your guitar is accurately tuned only by looking at it.

Very user-friendly.

Next feature: Mix with backing tracks.

The backing track you hear in the video is played by Jam Up.
I usually record my guitar play and the backing track seperately but this time, I recorded both in 1 track on my Mac Logic, using the feature of Jam Up that can directly call the backing tracks from iPod library.
This "call feature" is very rich. You don't need to copy the backing tracks on the app, they will be directly called from your iPod so you don't have to worry about eating up the capacity.

Also, changing the tempo without changing the pitch, changing the pitch by halftone, changing the volume... you can do all this instantly in real time, which is just great.
You can slow down the tempo in half
when you practice fast tunes. Even if your band play half-down tuning songs only, you can practice regular tuning songs without changing the guitar settings just by changing the pitch on this app.

Very convenient.

There's another nice feature: The sampler, which is covered at the very last of the video.
You can sample the phrase played on your guitar and use it as a loop track.
In the video, I played A7 and D7 whole notes, recorded it, played it back as a backing track and played solo to it.

There are other nice features such as multi track recorder etc.
You can do may things with this app.

With all these included, it's only $19.99.
But right now, they are on sale! (only $9.99!!)
You better not wait, seriously.

They have the special interface for this app, but the ones by other manufacturers also work.

My video is 20mins-long including demonstration guitar play, but it covers all the features of the app so go ahead and check it out!

ginjineko's new videos (and there are so many!)

Hey hey guys, sorry about the long interruption!

I've been overwhelmed with lots of nothing in my real life and been slacking on my mission as the editor in chief of Kamoneginji Studios blog.

There're so many great news I need to catch up with but first, let me start with the new videos ginjineko's been releasing.

Fender G-DEC3 Review (2010/Aug/30)

ginjineko was selected as a monitor user of Fender G-DEC3.
He used the amp for a month and made this review video.
You can see him playing his Fender Stratocaster, which is pretty rare.

Real Live Vol.3 information (2010/Sep/11)

This was recorded by ginjineko's iPhone just before the live performance last September.
I (khaluah) also performed as a singer and had so much fun!

D (2010/Oct/08)

This tune was released as a single-cut from his latest album "D".
He first intended to enter Guitar Idol 2010 with this tune, but at the very last minute, we found out that they extended the entry period so he changed his mind.
As a result, this video was turned into a free gift for you guys who's been waiting for his new album.

Concept Album「D」-Crossfade Preview- (2010/Oct/26)

This video is the free cross-fade preview for his latest album "D".
It's not available outside Japan yet, but will be soon.
You can hear the samples from all the tunes from the album. And I guarantee you that you'll crave for the full version!

"Metal Heads" REVIEW (2010/Nov/17)

ginjineko is now the official endorsed monitor artist for EZ drummer and this is the review video for its expansion, "Metal Heads".
http://www.crypton.co.jp/metal/toontrack
His latest album "D" was recorded using EZ drummer and it's obvious how the drum sound kicks butt comparing to his previous tunes.

"Guitar Idol 2010 Entry -PIKES PEAK- " (2010/Nov/19)

This is the Guitar Idol 2010 entry video.
You can still vote from this URL if you haven't yet!
http://www.guitaridol.tv/video/969
The tune is included in his latest album "D".
This version is the special edition featuring the drum audio of "Metal Heads", which is the expansion pack of EZ Drummer.

AMP SIMULATOR[AmpliTube & AmpKit] for iPhone V.S Line6 pocketPOD (2010/Nov/39)

He compared the sounds of AmpliTube for iPhone, AmpKit for iPhone, and Line6 Pocket POD.
Which one will you prefer?
BTW, Pocket POD is ginjineko's regular gear.

LIMIT BREAK -Metal Heads RE:MIX-

This is the new version of everybody's favorite, Limit Break.
The drum sound is amped up and our Big Cat's guitar play itself has been powered up!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town (2010/12/23)

Yup, he's done it again :)
He's been releasing punkish arranged Christmas tunes every year and this time it was "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"! He told us about all the background story of this tune on his Ustream program too. Aw, you missed it? Well, don't miss it this year then!

Heavy Rotation by AKB48 (2011/02/18)

Yes, it's that song of that girls group and he made it super cool like this!
He arranged the backing track to make it suitable for guitar instrumental and used two different playing style in the first half (red Hamer guitar) and the second half (Gibson).

July 11th 2010 Live Event Reports

Hey hey guys!
On July 11th, 2010, ginjineko presented a live event in Tokyo.
At this event, ginjineko, I (khaluah), and Captain Ed of Hayatebune performed live.

I know that you guys who live overseas couldn't make it to the show, so here are the snippets from it.
The sound was directly recorded by the mic on the camera so it's not super, but I hope you guys can feel like you were among the audience ;)
Enjoy!
